Paul McCartney Concert Tickets

Paul McCartney will continue his string of historic performances at the home of the New York Mets with two consecutive concerts at the new Citi Field.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will perform July 17-18 at the new sports venue, which hosted the first regular-season baseball game between the Mets and the San Diego Padres April 13. The multi-million dollar stadium, which can hold approximately 45,000 fans according to the venue’s website, replaced Shea Stadium.

The Beatles christened Shea Stadium when it opened in 1965 and McCartney made a special appearance last summer when Billy Joel’s “Last Play at Shea” production closed out the New York stadium.

“I am really excited about playing Citi Field,” McCartney said in a press release. “The Beatles were the first to play Shea Stadium and along with Billy Joel, I was the last to sing at the old Shea. So to be the first to play this stadium is incredible. I am really looking forward to a buzzing show.”

Tickets for the rain-or-shine events go on sale June 15 at 507tixx.com.

McCartney–who released his most recent album, “Memory Almost Full,” in 2007–will perform for the first time in Halifax, Nova Scotia, July 11. That concert coincides with the start of the port city’s Tall Ships Festival.
